Film Project- Storyboard

The film opens with a wide shot to show the setting, which is the family’s house.
Then, with a handheld camera, we will go throughout the house into the daughter’s room to see her and her friend on the bed to start the plot.
To add perspective sound, the girls will hear the mother telling them that dinner’s ready and the camera will cut to them in the kitchen.
With a wide shot of the girls ready to eat dinner, we see the dad sleeping in the background.

In a point of view shot we get the daughter trying to wake her dad up.

Then a long take of the mom walking over to him and trying to wake him up. Followed by him getting annoyed and walking away.
After we hear the dad slamming the door, the camera cuts to a close-up of the door handle to show the dad locking the door.
Then the camera cuts back into the kitchen as the mom tells the girls to eat their food.

The camera cuts to show that time has passed, and we get a wide shot of the actors saying goodbye to each other, and Elle getting her backpack off the couch.
As Elle’s getting her backpack, the camera cuts to a point of view shot of the door handle. Still in Elle’s point of view, she unlocked the door to see the killer trying to come in.
The camera cuts to a wide angle of Elle running away.
Then we get a point of view shot of Elle trying to warn Brooke, but she sees that she has no service.

After, the camera cuts back into the house and we have a two shot of the killer walking up to the counter, grabbing the knife, then the mom turning around.
As the mom screams, the camera cuts into the daughter’s room and we get a sound perspective of the mom screaming.

After the mom screams, the camera cuts to a close up of the killer stabbing the mom.

The camera pans into a wide shot and a long take shows the daughter walking up, the killer killing her, and trying to open the locked door.

The camera shows the killer leaving then the screen fades to white, to show its morning, then the father is shown walking through the house in a long shot.

Film Project- Schedule Filming

On Monday, December 16th, everyone in my group will get together at the house we are filming at. We will get as much as possible done. If the film wasn't completed on Monday, the next day we will all meet again and finish the film. During the same week, on Friday, Alyssa and I will edit the movie to make it perfect!

Film Project- Scouting Locations

Alyssa and I chose to film at Lily McCormack's house, who play's the daughter in our film. At the end of the film the father walks straight into the kitchen, and he is totally oblivious to his family lying dead on the floor. We decided Lily's house is perfect for this part, because her living room and kitchen are set up perfectly next to each other. Her house is the most realistic set up for someone to be able to walk past something big and not see it.

Film Project- Casting

Tom (Father)- Strale Gole
We chose Strale to be the father because he and Nadia who plays the mother annoy each other in real life, and the mother and father are annoyed with each other in the film.

Mom- Nadia Lugo
We chose Nadia to be the mother because, she has a strong voice, and is taking a theater class this year.

Brooke (Daughter)- Lily McCormack
We chose Lily for this character because she fit perfectly for the role. Also, she has been in the school plays, so she already has experience with acting.

Elle (Daughters Best Friend)- Alyssa Salerno
We chose Alyssa to be Brooke's best friend because her and Mia have good on screen chemistry, and they are already good friends in real life.

Killer- Josie McNary
We chose Josie to be the killer because she was best fit for the part. Josie is also very enthusiastic.
