Distribution Plan

To conclude my distribution research, my partner and I have come up with a few different ways to distribute out film Bloody Brooke. From many examples we have seen, we have found out it is extremely important how to distribute our film in order to prevent it from failing. Our best bet is to partner with a well known film company with many successes. Next, we will release our film in theaters and make a profit off of it. If our movie does well, we will partner with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime to make it available to more people who are unable to leave their home. We will make our film on DVD and BluRay in order to continue to profit after the film has left the theaters.

Distribution Research Post #2

It is a drama/ mystery which is a very popular movie within the age group of teenagers, young adults, and even people in their 40's. It had a very smart marketing strategy where they made the end of the first movie talk about twenty-seven years going by, and twenty-seven years later another film came out picking up where it left off. This had audiences who watched the first movie as a teenager to come back almost three decades later and watch the new film. It was released September 5, 2017. With tickets around $10 a person it grossed $700 million worldwide becoming the fifth highest grossing R rated film of all time.  This movie was easily known as soon as it came out because of its popular book writer known as Steven King, a popular horror book writer known by many. This film cannot be found on Amazon Prime, Hulu, or Netflix, the only way you can watch this movie is by renting or purchasing it for your own. You are also able to buy this film on DVD and BluRay.

Traditional Distribution

In todays film industry, distribution is used in many different aspects. In order to release a film you have to have relationships with different distributing companies to promote your film after the release in the movie theater. Having a partnership with one of these companies is always a good investment. For example, a film can make a partnership with Regal Movies and both the theater and the filmmakers benefit. Although with these companies you have to pay a good amount of money to get in, you are quick to not only make all of your money back but also profit a lot of money from the tickets sold. Another way to distribute your film is by putting it out on different streaming services; for example Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime etc.  These streaming services create a partnership with the owners of the film, because while your film is being featured on their website and you are making a profit, the streaming service is making money off of your film as well. This benefits you and the streaming service because someone could have paid the monthly fee just because they saw your movie was available on it and ended up really liking the stuff they put out. Many film industries also partner with bigger companies like Apple iTunes to have their movie able to be rented or bought to keep on your TV at home. Partnering with companies that have a bigger name such as Apple can also help persuade people to rent or purchase your film because they know a brand like that wouldn't put out a film that wasn't high quality.

Marketing Plan

For the film Bloody Brooke, my partner and I have come up with multiple ways to market our film. With our target audience being teens to young adults, we have come up with different ways to spread awareness to this age group about our new and upcoming film. The first way we have decided to market our film is to team up with Instagram. Instagram will help us target this age group and put our trailer on their feed while scrolling through photos. My partner and I also made an Instagram to post some behind the scenes to help our audience feel a little more engaged with out actors and staff. Another way we are marketing our film is by, making a poster and having it up at movie theaters around town. This will help teens and young adults who go to watch movies regularly see the "Coming Soon" with our movie underneath. Lastly we decided to team up with TikTok of our actors coming up with funny dances and showing behind the scenes of what they do on set. This will help show the one billion users our upcoming film. The app TikTok has mostly young users which is a bug help in targeting the audience we desire.

3rd Quarter submission/ 3rd revision
